Poesías, villancicos y fiestas teatrales en el Carmelo Reformado de los siglos XVI y XVII : la frontera entre lo lírico y lo teatral

Abstract

RESUMEN :Teresa de Jesús fue una gran aficionada a celebrar las fiestas litúrgicas e implantó esa costumbre en las primitivas fundaciones. Ella misma compuso villancicos, poemas líricos a diversas festividades, pero también a profesiones y tomas de hábito. Los conventos del reciente Carmelo Reformado celebraban con música, teatro y poesía los distintos hitos del año litúrgico, sobre todo la Navidad, pero también las profesiones de las religiosas y otras fiestas como el Corpus, las de determinados santos o advocaciones de la Virgen María, entre otras. Muchas carmelitas tomaron la pluma, siguiendo la huella de la fundadora, y escribieron centenares de textos para alegrar estas fiestas, la mayoría inéditos. La tarea de descubrir estos textos es apasionante, y contribuye a la recuperación de un patrimonio único de nuestros Siglos de Oro: la literatura olvidada que fue escrita por mujeres.ABSTRACT: Teresa de Jesús was very fond of celebrating liturgical feasts and introduced this tradition in the primitive foundations. She herself composed villancicos, lyrical poems for various festivities but also for professions and taking of habit. The convents of the recent Reformed Carmel celebrated the different milestones of the liturgical year with music, theater and poetry, especially Christmas, but also the professions of the nuns and other festivals such as Corpus Christi, those of certain saints or invocations of the Virgin Mary, among other. Many Carmelites took up the pen, following in the footsteps of the foundress, and wrote hundreds of texts to brighten up these festivities, most of them unpublished. The task of discovering these texts is an exciting one, and contributes to the recovery of a unique heritage of our Golden Age: the forgotten literature written by women.
