Abstract
The study of peasant protest in the 1930s continues to provide material for historiography. Although groups such as the Catalan rabassaires, the Galician foreros and Navarra´s corraliceros have been accurately characterised, there are others to whom so much attention hay possibly not been given. This is the case of the Extremadura yunteros, who took advantage of the historical opportunity meant by the 2nd Republic to claim their case. The restricted arable land made available by landowners in view of the world economic crisis and the changing scenario of the new regime, ruined the living conditions on this group, which would put the Republican government in check by invading estates.
