Transition-metal-free synthesis of amines from nitrosoarenes: C-N cross-coupling reaction of nitroso compounds with boronic acids

Abstract

Aromatic amines are compounds that have found widespread use in medicinal applications and materials science; consequently, their manufacture is one of the fastest-growing sectors in the chemical industry worldwide. The current trend in the industry is cost reduction and environmental compliance (sustainability); for that reason, the demand for new, green, and economic methods for the synthesis of these compounds has been intensified. This book provides a detailed description of a new method for the synthesis of functionalized secondary arylamines starting from nitrosoarenes and boronic acids in the presence of triethyl phosphite under metal-free-conditions.
