Abstract
Between 1494 and 1495 there was a conflict in Toledo’s archbishopric related to sales of cereals on credit. Debtors, from the rural setting, accused their creditors before the Royal Council because of the excessive price of the sales. Since then there was an intense debate in which not only creditors participated, but also cathedral’s chapter of Toledo. Throughout this study it will be analyzed the different positions of the parties involved in the conflict, the monarchical regulation of the cereal’s prices and the tithe’s tax farming systems.
