Una lectura shakesperiana de Enrico IV de Luigi Pirandello

Abstract

Esta Tesis Doctoral está articulada en cuatro capítulos, seguidos de una sección de referencias bibliográficas. El primero de ellos es la Introducción, el segundo, con el título Consideraciones previas: hacia un estudio comparado de Hamlet y Enrico IV, funciona tanto como definición del objeto de estudio y de cimentación de la metodología analítica. El capítulo tercero, Estudio Comparado, es el núcleo investigador y crítico de esta Tesis Doctoral. Le sigue, en su posición natural, el capítulo cuarto: Conclusiones generales. Tras estas, se encuentran las referencias bibliográficas. El tercer capítulo, Estudio Comparado, está precedido por un capítulo mucho más breve que consideramos esencial. Este segundo capítulo es un apartado explicativo y en él hemos optado por explicar de manera mucho menos profunda, pero, sentando algunas bases teórico-críticas, aquello que se desarrollará en profundidad en el capítulo inmediatamente posterior: Estudio Comparado. Para alcanzar este objetivo se ha planteado una organización armónica de los elementos que componen, a nuestro juicio y en12nuestra interpretación y lectura, el corazón1 de las obras. Por ello, dicho capítulo explicativo se encuentra dividido en cuatro bloques: Hamlet, Enrico IV, elementos comunes y diferencias. This Doctoral Thesis has been designed following a four chapters structure, naturally followed by the bibliography reference section. The first chapter located right after the summary, in both Spanish and English, is the introduction to this Thesis. Then, after that first introductory chapter, the reader can find a preliminary chapter that under the title ‘towards acomparative study of Hamlet and Enrico IV’ serves, both, as a methodology and a definition of the object of the study. The third chapter of this Thesis is the core and result of the investigation process itself: ‘the comparative study’,which is followed, in its natural position, by the ‘general conclusions’. The last structural piece of the Thesis is the ‘bibliography section’. The third chapter, as we have already mentioned, our comparative study, is preceded by a rather short chapter which we consider vital to thisThesis. In this second chapter some of the key aspects and theories of the study are discussed and analyzed in much less detail but those analyses serve as basis and theoretical ground for what will be discussed in the following sections of this Thesis.
