Estudios de caso de la política exterior española hacia el Mundo Árabe y Musulmán: Argelia

Abstract

Este texto analiza la política exterior española hacia Argelia a través de los datos recogidos en la “Base de Datos de Política Exterior” (BDPEX), un nuevo instrumento para el análisis de las relaciones exteriores españolas desarrollado por el Grupo de Estudios sobre las Sociedades Árabes y Musulmanas (GRESAM) de la Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha. De los datos se desprende que han sido los intereses energéticos los que han dominado la agenda bilateral. El análisis de los diferentes indicadores de la BDPEX muestra, también, que las cuestiones de carácter más político, como el conflicto del Sahara Occidental o la emergencia del islam político, han tenido una presencia menor que otros temas, como la inmigración o la lucha contra el terrorismo.This paper analyzes the Spanish foreign policy towards Algeria through data collected in the "Database of Foreign Policy" (BDPEX), a new tool for the analysis of Spanish foreign relations developed by the Study Group on Arab and Muslim Societies (GRESAM) at the University of Castilla-La Mancha. The data show that energy interests have been the core issue in the bilateral agenda. The analysis of different BDPEX indicators also show that the more political issues, the Western Sahara conflict and the emergence of political Islam, have less weight than others topics, such as immigration and the fight against terrorism.
