Abstract
This paper focuses on the Sobremesa (after-dinner meal) as an everyday cultural practice, understood not only as an extension of the act of eating, but also as a symbolic space of relationship, transmission and permanence. Through an interdisciplinary theoretical approach, which encompasses anthropology, philosophy, cultural studies and art theories, it examines the after-dinner meal as a ritual that shapes social bonds, structures and collective memories. Far from being a trivial habit, the after-dinner meal reveals a complex web of gestures, presences, silences and remains that, taken together, configure a meaningful experience. The research materialized in a series of graphic works that work with the trace as a record of the shared event. Stains, fragments and traces are used as visual matrices to represent what remains once the body has been removed. From this perspective, the project seeks to value the everyday as a territory of thought and artistic production, attending to both the ephemeral and the persistent, and situating the residue not as waste, but as a form of memory.
