"Calumnia" y "Vitarum auctio" : dos obras de Luciano traducidas por Sancho Bravo de Lagunas

Abstract

RESUMEN: En este trabajo se estudia la repercusión que "Calumnia" y "Vitarum auctio", dos obras de Luciano de Samósata, tuvieron en la literatura española áurea. En primer lugar, se presenta cada una de estas piezas delimitando sus rasgos principales y concretando sus traductores en lengua latina durante el periodo de reincorporación de Luciano a la cultura occidental. A continuación, se detallan las versiones castellanas que empezaron a circular por la Península Ibérica en el s. XVII. Finalmente, se analizan las traducciones de "Calumnia" y "Vitarum auctio" realizadas por Sancho Bravo de Lagunas, las primeras en castellano que se publicaron de ambos textos.ABSTRACT: The main subject of this work is the reperscussion of Lucian of Samosata's «Calumnia and Vitarum auctio» had in the literature of Spanish Golden Age. First of all, each of these texts are introduced by the delimitation of their principal features and the specification of their translators to the Latin language during the reincorporation of Lucian into the Western literature. Then, the Castilian versions that appeared in the Iberian Peninsula during the 17th century are detailed. Finally, we shall analyse the translations of «Calumnia and Vitarum auctio» undertaken by Sancho Bravo de Laguna, the first Castilian versions of these texts to be printed.
