Abstract
ABSTRACT : The first systematic archaeological works in Clunia have been traditionally attributed to Ignacio Calvo. However, there was a previous intervention by Narciso Sentenach, which had gone largely unnoticed, although it marked the starting point for following archaeologists: I. Calvo, B. Taracena and P. Palol. Sentenach also pointed out some valuable practical suggestions which were not carried on until several decades later.
