Abstract
El presente estudio se enfoca en el duelo complicado en cuidadores de pacientes en cuidados paliativos. Aunque la mayoría de las personas experimentarán un duelo normal, algunos desarrollarán complicaciones en su proceso. La prevalencia del duelo complicado varía entre el 7% y el 20%,dependiendo de los estudios. Son escasas las investigaciones que analizan los factores predictores del duelo complicado antes del fallecimiento de un paciente en cuidados paliativos. El objetivo de este estudio fue determinar los factores predictivos del duelo complicado en cuidadores de pacientes en cuidados paliativos. Se examinaron, antes del fallecimiento, variables socio-demográficas (sexo y edad) y clínicas (tipo de enfermedad y tiempo de los cuidados) del paciente, así como variables socio-demográficas en el cuidador principal (sexo, edad, parentesco y convivencia con el paciente, nivel de estudios y estado financiero), y psicológicas (malesta remocional, depresión, percepción sobrecarga y apoyo social) para evaluar su relación con el duelo complicado al segundo, sexto y 13º mes del fallecimiento...
