Abstract
Este artículo pretende analizar el bautizado como “caso Jaime Blanco”, el cual supuso el primer escándalo político de la nueva democracia construida durante la Transición. El desencadenante fueron los insultos, agresiones y detención del diputado socialista Jaime Blanco por parte de miembros de la Policía Armada. Los sucesos tuvieron una inmediata repercusión, reflejando las disputas por el nuevo espacio político, la reforma de los cuerpos policiales, el nuevo reglamento de las Cortes o los derechos de los diputados en un contexto democrático. A través de la prensa de la época y los diarios de sesiones del que fuera el primer pleno de las Cortes de la actual democracia, pretende conocerse el desarrollo y el significado de aquellos acontecimientos.
This article tries to analyze the one baptized as the “Jaime Blanco case”, which was the first political scandal of the new democracy built during the Transition. The origin was the insults, attacks and arrest of the socialist deputy Jaime Blanco by the Armed Police. The events had an immediate repercussion, reflecting the disputes over the new political space, the reform of the police forces, the new regulations of the Cortes or the rights of the deputies in a democratic context. Through the press of the time and the diaries of sessions of what was the first debate of the new democracy, it is intended to know the development and meaning of those events.
