Algo acerca de extinciones

Abstract

En este escrito se trata de algunos conceptos relacionados con el termino "extinción". La extensión del trabajo no permite un tratamiento exhaustivo del asunto, lo que daría lugar a un tomo de gran volumen por las diversas circunstancias que han actuado alrededor de la popularización de las extinciones y de los autores que las han popularizado. Los conceptos aquí tratados tienen gran importancia en el mundo de la enseñanza donde se están utilizando con tal ambigüedad que oscurecen mas que aclaran las explicaciones del mundo que nos rodea.

In this paper we treat some concepts related to the term "extinction". Due to the limited extension of this paper, we can't present an exhaustive study on the subject, a study which would lead to a full book, because of the different circumstances that have played a role in the popularisation of "extinction" concept, together with the large number of authors involved in such a popularisation. The concepts we have treated here are of a great importance in Science Teaching, a field in which they are being used with such an ambiguity that they are obscuring, more than shedding any light, the understanding of the world around.
