Abstract
Se realiza la descripción de las rocas calco-magnesianas de la región de Buitrago del Lozoya y se interpreta su procedencia en términos de estructura y geoquímica. Se distinguen cuatro tipos principales: el tipo 1 son paraanfibolitas intercaladas en los esquistos y cuarcitas, probablemente del Tremadoc; el tipo 2 son también paraanfibolitas, intercaladas en los gneises de la formación Buitrago; estas rocas contienen minerales relictos de un episodio M1 de alta presión (granate de tipo grossularia-almandino, zoisita, rutilo); la anfibolitización se desarrolla durante un evento M2 hercínico; el tipo 3 lo constituyen ortoanfibolitas de probable origen volcánico, intercaladas igualmente en el gneis de Buitrago; se les asocia una mineralización polimetálica; el tipo 4 son paraanfibolitas en el augengneis volcanosedimentario de El Cardoso. Se establece una correlación con anfibolitas de otras áreas de la cadena hercínica española.
Ca-Mg rocks cropping out in the region around Buitrago del Lozoya are classified, described, and their provenance explained in terms of estructures and geochemistry. Four types are distinguished here: Type 1 are para-amphibolites interbedded with schists and quarzites of likely Tremadoc age. Type 2 are also para-amphibolites inside the Buitrago Gneisses. These rocks contain relic minerals pointing to a high presure M, event (grossular-almandine garnet, zoisite, rutile). Amphibolitization took place during an M2 intermediate low-pressure event of hercynian age. Type 3 are orto-amphibolites in the Buitrago Gneisses of a likely volcanic provenance and showing an associated polymetallic ore. Type 4 are para-amphibolites inside the El Cardoso volcano-sedimentary augengneisses. A correlation with amphibolites from other areas of the Spanish Hercynian Belt is considered.
