Abstract
Introduction. Sagittal alignment imaging analysis is essential for spinal surgery. Hypothesis and purpose. The following hypothesis is proposed: Global sagittal alignment analysis in patients with adult spinal deformity can be accomplished using clinical tools available in all hospitals. Material and Methods. Non-concurrent prospective study, including 65 patients who underwent surgery for ASD. All the subjects completed SRS-22 and SF36 questionnaires. Updated fullbody standing radiographs were obtained and full body standing photographs using skin markers to identify anatomic landmarks were taken by a professional clinical photographer. Results. Thirty patients were included in the first study. After seeing their pre and postoperative photographs, patients experienced a statistically significant improvement for image and satisfaction domains of the SRS-22 questionnaire. In the second study (65 patients), after multivariate analysis, Cr-SVA was identified as significant predictor for SRS Satisfaction, SRS Self-Image, SF36 Physical Function, SF36 pain, SF36 Role Emotional and SF36 Role Physical. In the third study (65 patients), thoracic inclination, lumbar vector angle, cranial pelvic angle, cranial sacral angle and fibular inclination angle were identified as photographic parameters correlating with clinical results...
