Teología política: Carl Schmitt contra las filosofías de la historia

Abstract

“Teología política” es hoy una expresión de gran presencia en el pensamiento contemporáneo, tanto en el campo de la filosofía, como en el de la teología y la teoría política. Paralelamente, la actualidad de este término se ve correspondida con una disparidad semántica igualmente reseñable. Los usos del concepto actual de teología política son de lo más variados y polivalentes. Atendiendo a lo anterior, el presente trabajo tiene como objetivo eminente el estudio de este significante dentro de la obra de uno de sus grandes promotores: el jurista alemán Carl Schmitt. Antes de estudiar la obra de Schmitt, nos apoyamos en la historia conceptual de Reinhart Koselleck y la filosofía hermenéutica de Hans Georg Gadamer a fin de trazar un recorrido histórico del concepto de teología política, analizando sus múltiples transformaciones semánticas. Esta propuesta tiene como objetivo indagar en las condiciones históricas, políticas e intelectuales que perfilan el horizonte hermenéutico en que la teología política regresa, a comienzos del siglo XX, a los centros de múltiples discusiones en torno al sentido de la Modernidad, el origen de la soberanía y la racionalidad inmanente del devenir histórico...

“Political theology” is an expression of great presence in contemporary thought, both in the field of philosophy, theology and political theory. At the same time, the currency of this term is matched by an equally remarkable semantic disparity. The uses of the current concept of political theology are very varied and polyvalent. In view of the above, the main objective of this research is the study of this signifier within the work of one of its great promoters: the German jurist Carl Schmitt.Before studying Schmitt’s work, we rely on the conceptual history of Reinhart Koselleck and the hermeneutic philosophy of Hans Georg Gadamer in order to trace a historical path of the concept of political theology, analyzing its multiple semantic transformations.
