La articulación del tema de Fausto en la postmodernidad : sus caminos en la literatura, el cine y el cómic hasta su reelaboración pop en The Wicked + The Divine

Abstract

Esta tesis doctoral titulada “La articulación del tema de Fausto en la postmodernidad: sus caminos en la literatura, el cine y el cómic hasta su reelaboración pop en The Wicked + The Divine” pretende constatar que el cómic The Wicked + The Divine (2014-2019) debe considerarse como un destacado referente del tema de Fausto en el contexto postmoderno. Además, se defiende que para el estudio de las articulaciones postmodernas del tema es preciso actualizar el corpus de reelaboraciones abordadas por los especialistas e incorporar al análisis géneros propios de la cultura popular y otros medios artísticos como el cómic. Por último, se ambiciona validar la hipótesis de que el discurso fatalista acerca de la postmodernidad construido por muchos pensadores actuales tiene una importante influencia en las articulaciones recientes del tema de Fausto...

This doctoral thesis entitled "The Articulation of the Faust Theme in Postmodernity: ItsPaths in Literature, Film and Comic to its Pop Re-elaboration in The Wicked + The Divine” aims to establish that the comic The Wicked + The Divine (2014- 2019) should be considered as an outstanding referent of the Faust theme in the postmodern context. Furthermore, it is argued that for the study of postmodern articulations of the theme, it is necessary to update the corpus of re-elaborations addressed by specialists and to incorporate genres specific to popular culture and other artistic media, such as comics,into the analysis.
