Abstract
The study of the music printing press in Spain between 1570 and 1738 wasn’t a topic of much interest by researchers in musicology or the material bibliography that is shown by the scarce and isolated studies published in the last decades. This lack of academic interest is probably caused by the need of synergy and collaboration between two disciplines: Musicology and Library Sciences. Our main objective is to perform a typographical study, and other materials, employed to include music in the editions, proposing a new methodology that is different from the few ones existing up to today. For our research is necessary to have bibliographic control over the amount editions and in a step forward, perform the de visu analysis of the surviving copies. This task demands the creation of a bibliographic repertoire, that collect as much editions as possible considering printing presses based on the Spanish geography (nowadays) and all possible printed typologies...
