Abstract
Bluetongue Virus (BTV) is a pathogen of great concern in animal health, mainly affecting both wild and domestic ruminants. It belongs to the Sedoreoviridae family and the Orbivirus genus. This virus stands out for its ability to cause significant disease and its impact on livestock production. Transmission of BTV mainly occurs through insect vectors, specifically biting midges of the genus Culicoides. To date, more than 29 different serotypes have been identified, each with its own characteristics that influence its virulence and ability to spread. This genetic diversity represents a challenge for control and prevention systems, as it requires adaptive approaches to address the wide range of virus variants...
