Abstract
Las actuales revistas femeninas, herederas directas de las publicaciones para mujeres que nacieron en el siglo XIX, siguen hoy conformando una forma de ser mujer y de estar en la sociedad actual. Todas esas publicaciones dirigidas a la mujer y por ende las páginas femeninas de las revistas ilustradas se constituyen así en piezas para estudiar los modelos de mujer propuestos y con ellos las tendencias en las mentalidades a través de la historia de la comunicación social. Nuestra propuesta implica un análisis histórico de la revista ilustrada Blanco y Negro durante la Segunda República, (desde abril de 1931 hasta el estallido de la Guerra Civil), por ser el periodo histórico en el que se promulgan por primera vez una serie de derechos y libertades fundamentales para la mujer. Hemos seleccionado esta revista porque, además de contener secciones específicas femeninas, nos ofrece una visión de conjunto de la época gracias a la variedad temática propia del carácter de las revistas ilustradas de información general que incorporaban, junto con las de actualidad, otras de interés cultural, artístico, deportivo, de espectáculo, política, economía…
The current women's magazines, direct heirs of the publications for women that were born in the 19th century, continue nowadays to shape a way of being a woman and being intoday's society. The publications aimed at women and the female pages of the glossy magazines become pieces to study the proposed models of women and their trends in mentalities through the history of social communication. Our proposal implies a historical analysis of the glossy magazine Blanco y Negro during the Second Republic, (from April 1931 until the outbreak of the Civil War), as it is the historical period in which a series of rights are promulgated for the first time and fundamental freedoms for women. We have selected this magazine because, in addition to containing specific feminine sections, it offers an overview of the time thanks to the variety of different topics of the glossy general information magazines that incorporated, along with current information, such as cultural, artistic interest, sports, entertainment, politics, economics...
