La telenovela en el mercado audiovisual lusófono

Abstract

Esta tesis doctoral pretende innovar en el conocimiento de la ficción televisiva serial al analizar y comparar dos mercados lingüísticos televisivos distintos, intentando explicar cómo este género se ha desarrollado hasta la actualidad y cómo posiblemente se desenvolverá en el futuro. Tiene como objetivo, a partir de tres grandes ejes transversales: la ficción serial televisiva como cultura e industria, la trayectoria de este género en dos países hispanoparlantes, y la evolución de la ficción en los países de Lengua portuguesa, establecer una relación entre las trayectorias de las telenovelas de estos dos grupos, demostrar que la ficción televisiva es parte irrefutable de la cultura contemporánea, así como integrar la trayectoria de estos distintos mercados lingüísticos para un mejor entendimiento de la realidad, bajo una nueva perspectiva y una mirada inédita. Para ello se ha realizado un análisis descriptivo de los estudios más importantes sobre la ficción televisiva, para posteriormente comparar los países Lusófonos, formados por Angola, Brasil, Cabo Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal y Timor Oriental, con dos de los países hispanoparlantes, en este caso las grandes industrias televisivas de España y de México. El resultado es un amplio y completo estudio que sitúa la ficción serial como parte de la economía, de la industria cultural y de una costumbre ancestral que estuvo, está y estará para siempre presente en todos los países del mundo, así como en las naciones lusoibéricas.This doctoral thesis aims to innovate in the knowledge of serial television drama, by analysing and comparing two different language television markets, trying to explain how this genre has evolved to the present and how possibly it will develop in the future. Based on three major themes: the television serial fiction culture and industry, the trajectory of this genre in two Spanish-speaking countries and the evolution of fiction in the Portuguese-speaking countries, it pretends to establish a relationship between the paths of soap opera and assimilated in these two groups, show that TV fiction is an irrefutable part of contemporary culture as well as integrate the different linguistic trajectories of these markets for a better understanding of reality, with a new perspective and a fresh look. For this, we performed a descriptive analysis of the most important studies of television fiction, and later compare the lusophone countries, formed by Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal and East Timor, with two Spanish speaking countries, in this case the big television industries of Spain and Mexico. The result is a broad and comprehensive study that places the serial fiction as part of the economy, cultural industry and an ancient custom that was, is and will forever be present in all countries of the world as well as in Portuguese and Iberian nations.
