Abstract
ABSTRACT: Analysing transmedia universes, both generally and in relation to specific works, is challenging. The investigation of the fractal development of a single theme through specific works could serve as a suitable methodology. Since 2014, the current generation of Spanish artists in Marvel comics dominates the main titles of the «Star Wars» transmedia universe. Despite having distinct styles or concerns, these artists depict Evil in rather different ways. The transmedial thematic analysis can then be constructed from proposals on Evil such as those of Hannah Arendt, María Pía Lara, Susan Sontag, Ana Carrasco-Conde or Martha Nussbaum. It will be found that these graphic representations introduce new and controversial ideologies that get around the restrictions of the market itself. Thus, through their drawings we find sociopolitical-economic dynamics regarding Evil that are related to the relationship between the individual and the State in a transmedial environment.
