El control del paisaje: las dinámicas del agua en la práctica artística contemporánea

Abstract

¿Qué es la naturaleza? ¿Cómo construimos el paisaje? ¿Por qué nos preocupa el mar y el río no? El paisaje natural lo construimos en base a nuestras necesidades, atendiendo únicamente a la rentabilidad del medio. El mar como elemento de consumo turístico y foco mediático ha copado toda nuestra atención, olvidando que los ríos son la vía más directa de contaminación del mar. Experiencia, cambio y compromiso son los tres conceptos que sustentan esta investigación situada en la comarca extremeña del Valle del Jerte, donde se abordan las distintas problemáticas que nacen de esta forma disruptiva que tenemos de habitar, y donde entendemos el río como eje transversal del territorio. Desde la práctica artística contemporánea se plantea el acercamiento del río a la sociedad mediante la generación de un recorrido plástico por las evidencias que nos muestra el paisaje, posibilitando una experiencia completamente conectada con el río. Este dispositivo artístico consta de varios elementos interactivos que nos permite percibir con todos los sentidos de los que el individuo contemporáneo está previsto. Generando una interacción e inmersión completa.

What is nature? How do we build the landscape? Why do we care about the sea and not the rivers? We build the natural landscape based on our needs, attending only to the profitability of the environment. The sea as an element of tourist consumption and media focus has captured all our attention, forgetting that rivers are the most direct route of pollution to the sea. Experience, change and commitment are the three concepts that sustain this research located in the Extremadura region of Valle del Jerte, where the different problems that arise from this disruptive way we have to inhabit are addressed, and where we understand the river as the transversal axis of the territory. Contemporary artistic practice approaches the river to society via the generation of a plastic route through the evidences that the landscape shows us, making possible an experience completely connected with the river. This artistic device consists of several interactive elements that allow us to perceive with all the senses of which the contemporary individual is expected. Generating an interaction and complete immersion.
