Abstract
La obra de Niccolò Machiavelli (1469-1527) se ha analizado desde innumerables puntos de vista. Del inicial interés por Il principe como obra a partir de la cual la política se convertiría en autónoma con respecto a la religión y la moral, se pasó posteriormente a su inclusión dentro de los clásicos del republicanismo a través de un mayor énfasis en los Discorsi. Más recientemente, un grupo de especialistas ha tratado de defender una interpretación radical o filo-popular de sus textos, de acuerdo con la cual el autor habría privilegiado la intervención del pueblo. Así, gran cantidad de especialistas han investigado en torno a la relevancia teórica de su concepción del Estado, la virtud, la milicia, las facciones o la Fortuna. Sin embargo, no son muchos los intérpretes que han fijado su mirada sobre su comprensión de la verdad política en relación con el engaño o la simulación, la representación o el conocimiento como instrumento de guerra...

From the initial interest in Il principe as a work from which politics could become autonomous with respect to religion and morality, he was later included among the classics of republicanism through a greater emphasis on the Discorsi. More recently, a group of specialists has tried to defend a radical or philo-popular interpretation of his texts, according to which the author would have privileged the intervention of the people. Thus, many specialists have investigated the theoretical relevance of his conception of the State, virtue, the militia, factions or Fortuna. However, not many interpreters have focused on his understanding of political truth in relation to deception or simulation, representation, or knowledge as an instrument of war...
