Abstract
En el miembro estratigráfico medio de Ambrona se han reconocido industrias líticas no achelenses, con características tecnológicas propias del Paleolítico Medio. En función de criterios morfoestratigráficos, biocronológicos y radiométricos la posición cronológica de estos materiales se refiere al OIS 9 o al final del OIS 11. El yacimiento de Torralba, de edad más reciente, contiene sin embargo industria achelense. Con las referencias que aportan otros yacimientos peninsulares, especialmente Atapuerca (Burgos) y Bolomor (Valencia), se plantea una discusión preliminar en torno a la aparición de industrias relacionadas con el Paleolítico Medio antes de la extinción de la tecnología achelense en la Península Ibérica.ABSTRACT: Middle stratigraphic member of Ambrona site contains not acheulean industries, which technologies is related to the Middle Paleolithic Period. Depending on morphostratigraphic, biochronologic and radiometric criteria, the chronological position of these materials refers to OIS 9 or to the end of OIS 11. Nevertheless the site of Torralba, earlier in age, contains acheulean industries. Acheulean technology in the Iberian Peninsula, related to Middle Paleolithic technology before its disappearance, has been considered to discuss as a result of new references that has been contributed by other Peninsular sites, specially Atapuerca (Burgos) and Bolomor (Valencia).
