Abstract
Sludge with a high organic matter content, such as sewage sludge, is a waste that is generated continuously and whose management is essential from an environmental point of view. The volume of generation is increasing as the population grows and the legislation is becoming more and more restrictive as environmental protection is an increasingly important criterion worldwide. This opens the door to research and development of increasingly efficient treatment techniques. In addition, this environment also favors the development of new techniques to valorize the valuable compounds contained in the sludge. In this context emerges the present research, from the previous PhD Industrial investigation "Development and optimization of the OSCAR® technology for the treatment of effluents with a high organic load" (Ruiz de León Gomez 2021) developed by the Catalysis and Separation Processes Group of the Complutense University of Madrid and by the company Ecolotum, Energía Recuperable S.L...
