Riesgo de inundaciones por sellado del suelo en el sureste de Madrid.

Abstract

Mediante distintas fuentes de información espacial se analiza el sellado del suelo en el sureste de la ciudad de Madrid, con el fin de analizar la relación entre este proceso y el riesgo de inundaciones. Se plantea si la creciente impermeabilización de amplias superficies coexiste con espacios naturales que garanticen el mantenimiento de las funciones ecosistémicas vitales de los suelos, en especial, la capacidad de infiltración del agua y de amortiguar las precipitaciones torrenciales. El sellado de suelos asciende al 1 %/año, cifra que triplica el de otros distritos en expansión de Madrid. En el periodo transitorio en que este fenómeno se produce coexisten ambos sistemas, por lo que en unos lugares permanecerá la ordenación fluvial natural junto a espacios donde esta es conducida por infraestructuras de alcantarillado. Se plantea la conveniencia de una mayor naturalización de estos flujos en reas urbanas, junto a la necesidad de los grandes colectores.

A study of soil sealing in the south-east of the city of Madrid is being carried out using different spatial information sources, in order to analyse the relationship between this process and the risk of flooding. The advisability of a greater naturalization of these flows in urban areas is raised, along with the need for large collectors.
