Abstract
RESUMEN: La función masticatoria requiere varios pasos : primero masticación, segundo insalivación, tercero trituración, cuarto formación del bolo y quinto deglución. La fisiología de la masticación no se conoce exactamente en pacientes desdentados portadores de prótesis implanto-retenidas sobre dos implantes mandibulares. Objetivo: Analizar la eficacia masticatoria en personas dentadas y pacientes desdentados portadores de prótesis implanto-retenidas sobre dos implantes mandibulares.
ABSTRACT: Masticatory function requires several steps: first mastication, second insalivation, third grinding, fourth bolus formation, and fifth swallowing. The physiology of mastication is not exactly known in edentulous patients with implant-retained prostheses on two mandibular implants. Objective: to analyse the masticatory efficiency in dentate and edentulous patients with implant-retained prostheses on two mandibular implants.
