Abstract
La percepción auditiva permite reconocer a los interlocutores en una conversación y recabar información de las personas a través de distintos códigos verbales y no verbales. Una de las características humanas que pueden reconocerse a través de la voz, de forma general, es el género. De este modo, la frecuencia fundamental (F0) de la voz podría ser un elemento clave en la determinación del género de una persona. La percepción de género es muy relevante en personas transgénero, ya que los patrones vocales son aspectos característicos de la presentación personal. La voz, como expresión fundamental de la identidad, se ha convertido en un área de creciente interés y preocupación para el contexto de la comunidad transgénero. Los avances de la sociedad y de la medicina, permiten que las personas transgéneros puedan aprovechar un nuevo tratamiento como es la feminización dela voz, facilitando el cambio de la voz con técnicas quirúrgicas y con terapia logopédica...

Thus, the fundamental frequency (F0) of the voice could be a key element in determining the gender of a person.
