Este trabajo es la memoria de tesis que se presenta para la consecución del doctorado por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid por el doctorante Juan Morán Sáez. La presente investigación fue realizada entre los años 2015 y 2018 durante la residencia del autor en Ecuador y más específicamente en el Oriente ecuatoriano. En ella se hace un recorrido al paisaje y el territorio de las vertientes orientales de los Andes ecuatoriales desde el punto de vista de una geografía crítica y regionalista. This work is the doctoral dissertation of Juan Morán Sáez to obtain a doctor (Ph.D.) degree in Geography from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. The research was conducted between 2015 and 2018 during the author's residence in Ecuador, primarily in the country’s east. It is a journey through the landscape and territory of the eastern slopes of the equatorial Andes from the point of view of a critical and regionalist geography.
