Abstract
This dissertation aims to examine the legal thought of Pegasus, a Proculian leader of the second half of the first century A.D. To do so, the preserved juridical sources regarding his opinions will be analysed following the historical-critical method. Specifically, the dissertation will seek to contribute to our knowledge on the following aspects: the characteristics of Pegasus (in his dual role as a jurist and politician). The possible features that can be identified in his legal thought. The type of work he may have written, and its dissemination in subsequent centuries. Finally, the influence of Pegasus on later jurists will be explored. At the beginning of the present dissertation, a reconstruction of Pegasus' life is made in light of the information provided by the analysis of his juridical thought.
