Abstract
Political polarization appears as one of the great problems, or one of the great threats, of our contemporary societies, both inside and outside Spain. This phenomenon must be linked to the profound processes of social change of recent decades, as well as to the dynamics of social polarization that are observed in today’s society, inextricably linked to the transformations of labor markets that take place in the general framework of postmodernity. This article aims to trace these processes of change to offer an overview of the social context of our days and the personality traits that are most functional in said environment. These traits could offer attempts to explain the way in which current citizens relate to politics.
