El otro y el Otro. La reconstrucción actual de las creencias en Occidente

Abstract

El presente trabajo tiene como meta la profundización en las diversas formas de creencia religiosa actual en el marco de Occidente para realizar un acercamiento más certero sobre el espacio de las "religiones" en la sociedad posmoderna. En torno a esta realidad, iremos abordando las diferentes facetas del panorama social y religioso para poder obtener una visión amplia a través de los diversos fenómenos sociales relacionados con lo religioso, como son la relación entre el individualismo y las creencias o las diferentes novedades espirituales propuestas a día de hoy. En definitiva, el trabajo pretende ahondar en las explicaciones de una religiosidad actual que nos hace cuestionar las aproximaciones clásicas al término religión. Una religiosidad que si bien se asocia al reencantamiento del mundo, lleva la indeleble huella del individualismo y que en el caso Occidental se convierte (esta religión individual) en la esencia de la tipología creyente actual. Por último, realizaremos una reflexión sobre qué tipo humano y qué tipo divino podemos rastrear a través del panorama religioso de hoy, así como una breve mención sobre los espacios que restarán en el futuro a los teísmos, trasladado su peso sociológico desde el Primer Mundo hacia los confines del mismo.

This work tries to deal with the different current religious beliefs, specially focused on the First World, in order to understand the increasing variety of spiritual experiences in the PostModern Era. Along the chapters of the study, we will explore the relation between religious construction and some other facets of human being such as individualism and beliefs or the diversity of religious proposals according to the self-identity-construction. In other words, we expect to offer to scholars a comprenhensive overview of 21th century-religiosity. To achieve this, the work goes deeper into the explanations of present religion, which make us hesitate about the classical approaches to that concept due to the birth of a re-enchantment of the world in a very close relation to invididualism. That is, mainly, the basis of the latest reborn of religion. Finally, we will consider the new notions of human being (and necessarily, the new ideas of God) that everybody can find taking a look around our society and how this new concepts, broadly expanded, are influencing to monotheistic religion. As a result, Christianism and Islam, the two main monotheistic religions, seem to be expelled from the First World to the poorest nations, where they still play an essential role.
