La fiesta del Corpus en España

Abstract

El Corpus Christi, fiesta central de la sociedad católica desde el siglo XIII, tuvo en España su mayor esplendor. En un libro que recopila las actuales modalidades de su celebración, me encargué de la introducción, resumiendo su evolución histórica, resaltando sus singulares personajes de dragones y demonios, y clasificando los elementos integrantes de las actuales procesiones.The Corpus Christi, the Central Festival of Catholic Society since the 13th century, had its greatest splendor in Spain. In a book that collects the current modalities of its celebration, I took care of the introduction, summarizing its historical evolution, highlighting its unique characters of dragons and demons, and classifying the elements that are part of the current processions.
