Abstract
La fotografía atrapa instantes únicos. No hay ninguna toma que sea idéntica a otra. Cada segundo al disparar cuenta. Una mínima fracción de tiempo puede ser fundamental para convertir una foto corriente en grandiosa. Se trata de captar aquel “momento decisivo” que tanto preocupaba a Cartier-Bresson (1908-2004) y, aunque a veces se consigue, muchas de esas valiosas imágenes nunca salen a la luz. Se las queda quien las crea e, incluso, ni siquiera su autor las llega a ver porque las acumula en carretes o tarjetas que no revela. Y lo que no se ve es como si no existiera. El problema es que así se pierde al artista, su manera particular de mirar y sus momentos singulares son ignorados...
Photography captures unique moments. No one shot is identical to another. Every second when shooting counts. A fraction of a second can turn an ordinary photo into a great one. It is about capturing that “decisive moment” that Cartier-Bresson (1908-2004) was so concerned about and, although it is sometimes achieved, many of these valuable images never even see the light of day. Whoever takes them stores them on reels or cards that are never revealed, and not even their author gets to see them. And what is not seen, is the same as if it did not exist. The problem is that this is how an artist is lost to history, their particular way of looking and their singular moments are ignored...
