dc.description.abstractAs a result of the steady increase of computers, mainly in the tertiary sector, it is more frequent to find jobs that make use of screens and also discomforts from workers in relation to health. All this has led to a huge number of studies and medical research on possible health risks related to the visual display terminal works (V.D.T.). By and large, we can say that, although no serious risks come up, those affected can display a series of discomfort or disorders that should be avoided dealt with accordingly. Operators of data visualization screen sufferings can be classified into three groups: eyestrain, physical and mental fatigue. Psychosocial risk factors are determined as those characteristics relative to the organization and arrangement of the work from the Law 31/1995 of Labor Risk Prevention, as "those present conditions in a labor situation directly related to the management of the work, the work itself and the accomplishment of the task, and that come up with aptitude to affect the development of the work and the worker’s health". The evaluation of the psychosocial risk factors, integrated into the overall evaluation process of occupational hazards, turns into a preventive tool of great importance. The identification, evaluation and control of the psychosocial factors together with the planning and adoption of the measured preventive correspondents, will drive to an effective management of the employees and of the organization, in the sense of a better adequacy and adjustment between the work assigned, the environment, the company and people. This will provide them with the resources for the accomplishment of the task (primary prevention) or to address the situation (secondary or tertiary prevention), which will be translated into greater efficiency into organization...
