Abstract

Zoolatry is very present in the references to the religious beliefs and practices of the Egyptians from GrecoLatin sources. However, among the great list of sacred animals that were the object of worship, only a few remained mentioned until the sources of Late Antiquity. This article studies the transmission of information about the sacred bull Mnevis, which generally accompanies Apis in the references, but not with the same level of detail.
