Evolución Política y Normativa de "Una Sola Salud" (One Health) en el Ámbito Global. Antecedentes, Situación y Perspectivas

Abstract

«One Health», como concepto intuitivo y sin definir, ha formado parte de diversas culturas en distintos lugares del mundo desde hace milenios. A lo largo del siglo XX y especialmente a partir de los años ochenta, surgió el concepto «One Medicine», reivindicando la unicidad de las Medicinas Humana y Veterinaria, diferenciándose en su objeto (humanos o animales) pero coincidentes en gran medida en materias, métodos, y también objetivos, principalmente la protección de la Salud Humana en campos comunes como puede ser la Salud Pública. A principios del siglo XIX se acuñó el término «One Health» (Una sola salud) apoyado por una serie de Principios (Principios de Manhattan) que introducían el elemento medioambiental en la Salud Humana / Salud Animal para convertirse en los tres elementos iniciales de «One Health», coincidentes en la llamada interfase Salud Humana/ Salud Animal / Salud Ambiental...

«One Health», as an intuitive and undefined concept, has been part of various cultures in different parts of the world for millennia. Throughout the 20th century and especially from the 1980s onwards, the concept of ‘One Medicine’ emerged, claiming the unity of Human and Veterinary Medicine, differing in their object (humans or animals) but largely coincidingin subjects, methods, and also objectives, mainly the protection of Human Health in common fields such as Public Health.
