Abstract

Experiencias narrativas: el rapsoda se despierta en el arte contemporáneo trata de hacer un análisis de cómo la figura del narrador de historias propia de las sociedades orales, tras un largo sueño, se ha despertado en forma de artista contemporáneo. Esto implica la aparición de una serie de prácticas que ven su punto de partida con el nacimiento del happening. Desde entonces, han ido cobrando protagonismo, evolucionando y adquiriendo nuevas herramientas con el intención de convertir la práctica artística en un espacio de diálogo que participa de la experiencia personal y compartida. Esta investigación indaga sobre distintos modos de contar historias, dentro del marco del arte contemporáneo, que encuentran su referente en las sociedades orales donde la experiencia compartida y transmitida está atravesada por la subjetividad tanto del que toma el relevo del relato (el artista) como del oyente que lo atiende (el espectador), potenciando la subjetividad por encima del discurso hegemónico. El espectador se convierte así en un narrador más, y lleva la pieza fuera del espacio expositivo. Precisamente, con el deseo de hacer partícipe a este texto de dicha práctica, me sirvo de mi propia experiencia como artista y espectadora de trabajos que persiguen este fin. Como consecuencia, gran parte de los ejemplos a continuación expuestos han ocurrido en el margen de estos dos últimos años.

Narrative Experiences: The Rhapsodist Awakens In Contemporary Art aims to make an analysis of how the figure of the storyteller typical from oral societies, after a long sleep, has woken up embodied as a contemporary artist. This means the appearance of a new kind of practices which see its start point with the birth of the Happening. Since then, they have achieved attention, development and new tools with the intention of turning the artistic practice in a space for dialogue which deals both with personal and shared experience. This investigation inquieres into different ways of storytelling, within the context of contemporary art, which find its model in oral societies where shared and transmitted experiences is based on subjectivity both from the one who takes its relief of the story (artist) and the one who listens (spectator), strengthening subjectivity upon the hegemonic speech. The spectator becomes also a narrator, and it takes the art piece out of the exhibition space. Precisely, with the wish of involve this text of such a practice, I use my own experience as an artist and spectator myself of works which pursue this aim. Therefore, in the following text we will find several examples which have happened in the past two years gap.
