Abstract
ABSTRACT: This article analyses the representation of social classes in novels about the crisis based on a general overview and the subsequent analysis of two works with choral protagonists, «Los besos en el pan» by Almudena Grandes and «Peligro de derrumbe» by Pedro Simón. It is found that this narrative has focused its interest on the portrayal of the decomposition of the middle class and has thus contributed to shaping a depiction of the consequences of the economic crisis from a partial and limited perspective that sidelines migrants, workers, or laborers.
