La Colección de Fotografía del Museo de Bellas Artes de Bilbao (1914-2014): estudio, catalogación y análisis

Abstract

La presente investigación parte del estudio y la catalogación de la Colección de Fotografía del Museo de Bellas Artes de Bilbao. La Colección está formada por 11 fondos de autores individuales y otros tres que incluyen obra de varios autores. Asimismo, la Colección cuenta con 17 fotografías sueltas, que no se inscriben en ningún fondo de fotografía específico. La Tesis analiza cada uno de los fondos que la conforman, ubicándolos en sus correspondientes contextos espaciales, temporales y estéticos, procurando establecer puntos de unión entre ellos. Una segunda perspectiva de análisis se basa en la Colección de Fotografía como unidad, contextualizada dentro del resto de colecciones del Museo de Bellas Artes de Bilbao, y en el papel jugado por la institución en la puesta en valor y difusión del medio fotográfico. Asimismo, se ha prestado atención a las tendencias museológicas en España respecto a la fotografía, a los procesos de aceptación de la fotografía como obra de arte museable, así como a las cuestiones específicas de catalogación de obra fotográfica y las posibles problemáticas que pueden plantear...This research is part of the study and cataloguing of the Collection of Photography of the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum. The Collection consists of 11 small collections of individual authors and three others that include the work of several authors. In addition, the Collection has 17 loose photographs, which are not registered in any specific photographic collection. The thesis analyzes each of the differents collections belonging to Collection of Photography. It intends to place them in their corresponding spatial, temporal and aesthetic contexts. In additon, it tries to establish common ground between them. A second perspective of analysis is based on two facts firstly, the Collection of Photography as unit, contextualized within the rest of the collections of the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum. Secondly, the role played by the institution in setting in value photographic medium and dissemination.
