Una propuesta metodológica para el estudio histórico de la ortografía : el ejemplo de la «tt» en el español moderno (1550-1800)

Abstract

RESUMEN: Partiendo de la idea de «estandarización en proceso» que caracteriza la ortografía española de los siglos XVI al XVIII, este trabajo pretende analizar desde este punto de vista la utilización de la «tt» en un corpus de textos escritos en España entre 1550 y 1800. Los resultados del análisis demuestran que esta visión de la historia de la ortografía y la metodología de trabajo utilizada en el estudio pueden ser de gran utilidad para obtener una comprensión más profunda de los procesos diacrónicos que determinan la evolución ortográfica del español y la situación que existe actualmente al respecto.ABSTRACT: Starting from the idea of the «standardization in progress» that characterizes Spanish orthography between the 16th and the 18th centuries, this paper aims to analyze the utilization of «tt» in a corpus of texts written in Spain between 1550 and 1800. The results of this research show that both the approach to the history of orthography and the methodology employed here can be very useful in obtaining a deeper understanding of the diachronic processes that define the orthographic development of the Spanish language and its present situation.
