Abstract
El cese de la actividad agrícola supone una oportunidad para la recuperación de la vegetación precedente. Esto se denomina sucesión secundaria y es un proceso estructurado en diferentes fases. Para el estudio de estas se elaboró una cronosecuencia compuesta por doce parcelas donde el cese agrícola tuvo lugar en años distintos. Así, se puede hablar de abandono antiguo, intermedio y reciente. Durante la transición de unas etapas a otras tienen lugar cambios en la vegetación y el suelo que pueden ser estudiados para comprender mejor el comportamiento de las especies y su relación con las propiedades del suelo en cada una de las etapas del abandono. Una manera de medir posibles cambios en las especies originados por una sucesión secundaria es mediante el empleo de rasgos funcionales de las plantas. En esta tesis doctoral hemos medido los niveles de clorofila, prolina, área foliar, área foliar específica, altura, carbono y nitrógeno foliar. Las propiedades del suelo se estudiaron a través de un análisis granulométrico de la fracción mineral y su contenido en carbono y nitrógeno. Se estudiaron las posibles relaciones de la vegetación con los rasgos funcionales y las propiedades del suelo. Finalmente, se calcularon los índices de Ellenberg de las especies estudiadas...
The cessation of agricultural activity provides an opportunity for the recovery of the previous vegetation. This is called secondary succession, a process structured in different phases. For the study of these phases, we established a chronosequence of twelve plots where the agricultural cessation took place along different years. Thus, we resumed the abandonment in old, intermediate and recent. Changes in vegetation and soil occurred during the transition from one stage to another. These changes can be studied to better understand the behaviour of species and their relationship to soil properties at each stage of abandonment. One way to measure possible changes in species caused by secondary succession is through the use of plant functional traits. In this doctoral thesis we have measured the levels of chlorophyll, proline, leaf area, specific leaf area, height, carbon and leaf nitrogen. Soil properties were studied through a granulometric analysis of the mineral fraction and its carbon and nitrogen content. The relationships between the vegetation, functional traits and soil properties were studied. Finally, Ellenberg´s indices were calculated for the species forming the plant layer of the chronosequence...
