Abstract
La presente tesis doctoral aborda el análisis de la procuraduría religiosa en la circulación cultural de los Imperios ibéricos de Portugal y la Monarquía Hispánica en el siglo XVII. La investigación tiene como objetivo realizar un estudio comparado de la figura del procurador religioso de ultramar, y otros agentes religiosos, entre la Compañía de Jesús, la Orden de Predicadores y la Orden de Frailes Menores, en el desempeño de sus funciones de representación en Europa. Para ello se han seleccionado tres casos representativos: fray Luis Sotelo (OFM), Jerónimo Lobo (SJ) y fray Antonio González de Acuña (OP). Aplicando las líneas de trabajo que vienen renovando los estudios de la historia religiosa, como la historia global, la historia comparada de los mundos ibéricos, la historia de las misiones y la historia de los saberes, el estudio pone en valor el papel que ocuparon las órdenes mendicantes en paralelo a la Compañía de Jesús en la circulación cultural de los mundos ibéricos, entre los espacios misioneros y los centros metropolitanos europeos...
This PHD Research Thesis deals with the analysis of the religious procurator in the cultural circulation of the Iberian Empires of Portugal and the Hispanic Monarchy in the17th century. The aim of the study is to carry out a comparative analysis of the figure of the overseas religious procurator, and other religious agents, between the Society of Jesus, the Order of Preachers and the Order of Friars Minor, in the performance of their representative functions in Europe. Three representative cases have been selected for the research: Friar Luis Sotelo, Jerónimo Lobo and Friar Antonio González de Acuña. The review of these cases, based on the lines of work that are renewing studies of religious history, such as global history, the history of the Iberian Empires, the history of missionsand the history of knowledge, aims to highlight the role played by the mendicant orders in parallel to the Society of Jesus in the transmission of information and knowledge in the Iberian missionary areas...
