Yo, el otro yo y los demás otros : el «viaje» de un inmigrante congoleño a París en "Tais-toi et meurs" de Alain Mabanckou

Abstract

Resumen: «Tais-toi et meurs» de Alain Mabanckou es una novela con tintes policíacos que ofrece múltiples lecturas. En este trabajo, se propone una lectura como novela de un viaje ficcional, al considerar que la aventura del protagonista arroja una perspectiva distinta sobre este tipo de narrativa y una mirada sobre la otredad distinta de la habitual. Pero en este relato de viaje migratorio, se encuentra esencialmente la problemática de la identidad del personaje sobre tres ejes distintos: él mismo, lo que cambia con la emigración a Francia y los otros, que, a su vez, son los franceses, los parisinos, a cuya ciudad llega; pero también, y más importante, la mirada a la comunidad congoleña en París. Por lo tanto, se examina principalmente esta cuestión de viaje para considerar la noción identitaria. Además, esta identidad fragmentada del personaje permite reflexionar sobre la desubicación de aquellos que llegan a Francia, con un pie medio en Europa, medio en África; sin realmente enraizarse, ni construirse identitariamente en ningún lugar.Abstract: Alain Mabanckou’s crime fiction «Tais-toi et meurs» offers many readings. In this paper, the purpose rather than analyzing the crime narrative is to consider it as fiction ‘travel novel’, exposing the ‘adventures’ in France, particularly in Paris, of a Congolese immigrant. Such perspective evaluates the novel from a different angle, taking into account, that this time, an African glances to France, as an manifolds Other. Therefore such journey conveys a questioning of one’s own identity, and the Otherness. However, in this case, the Otherness does not only refer to the French, but also to the Congolese community established in Paris, to which the character doesn’t fully fit in. Moreover, the consideration of the fragmentation of identity is reflected in those three angles: I, the French and the other Congolese. And this analysis drives us to the inquiry concerning the disorientation of the immigrant, unable to build a new identity, belonging neither to Africa, nor Europe.
