Abstract
El período 1625-1635 se caracterizó por una inestabilidad en toda Europa debido a la multitud de conflictos bélicos, mayores y menores, que la asolaban, así como por una extensión de los mismos a escala global. La guerra hispano-inglesa de 1625-1630 fue un conflicto secundario respecto a otros, como la Guerra de los Treinta Años, pero no por ello carente de importancia. El análisis de este tipo de conflictos pone de relieve que, aunque menores, suponían una potencial amenaza para la estabilidad de la Monarquía Hispánica, ante el peligro de verse formalizados en alianzas geopolíticas de mayores dimensiones a través de coaliciones internacionales. Over the period 1625-1635 there was a sustained instability throughout Europe, due to various conflicts, both major and minor, that devastated it, which had also effects on a global scale. Although the Anglo-Spanish War of 1625-1630 was a secondary conflict in the scheme of others, such as the Thirty Years’ War, it was not without importance. The analysis of the conflict shows that, although minor, it posed a potential threat to Spain’s stability, given the danger of it being formalised into larger geopolitical alliances through international coalitions.
