Los cambios políticos árabes y su relevancia para las teorías de Relaciones Internacionales

Abstract

Las revueltas, conflictos y cambios políticos que están viviendo los países árabes desde finales de 2010 están recibiendo mucha atención mediática pero insuficiente reflexión académica, a pesar de su relevancia para el campo de las Relaciones Internacionales. La presente ponencia se propone analizar qué suponen dichos cambios en el mundo árabe para las distintas teorías de las Relaciones Internacionales: neorrealismo, institucionalismo, estructuralismo y constructivismo social. Asimismo, responde a preguntas sobre qué teorías dan mejor cuenta de los fenómenos que estamos viviendo y se aventura a explicar el impacto que tendrán estos cambios o deberían tener sobre la evolución teórica de la disciplina.

The revolts, conflicts and political changes experienced by Arab countries since late 2010 have received much attention in the mass media but not enough academic reflection, despite its relevance for the field of International Relations. This communication is meant to analyze what exactly mean these transformations in the Arab world for the various theories of International Relations: (neo) Realism, Institutionalism, Structuralism and Social Constructivism. Likewise, it tries to address the question of which theories best account for the political transformation we are witnessing and dares to explain the impact these events will have or should have on the theoretical evolution of the discipline
