Abstract
El punto de partida de esta investigación que ahora se presenta como tesis doctoral fue un interés personal, desde mi punto de vista artístico, por el corazón como elemento plástico de gran fuerza. Si en el arte del siglo XX el cuerpo se ha convertido en uno de los temas clave, el interior del mismo también ha adquirido gran protagonismo. Sin embargo, de todo ese interior, el corazón resulta ser uno de los órganos más representados plásticamente y con mayor carga significativa. Así, partiendo de la hipótesis de que el corazón y su simbolismo eran elementos claves para entender parte de la producción artística contemporánea, y con el objetivo de desvelar los motivos que sitúan a este órgano es esa posición tan relevante, apareció en mi discurso otro elemento complementario, que comparte con el corazón multitud de significados: la sangre...
The starting point of this research project, now submitted as a thesis, was my personal artistic interest in the heart as a strong visual component. In the 20th century the body became a key issue, but nowadays, also the inside of it has acquired great importance. Nevertheless, of all the inside, the heart has turned to be one of the most portrayed organs, bearing also the largest significance. So based on the hypothesis that the heart and its symbolism were key elements to understand the artistic contemporary production and with the aim of revealing the causes for which this organ is so outstanding, another complementary element arise: the blood. These two organs share also many meanings...
