Abstract
To talk about Syria or its culture is to talk about the cradle of civilization and also about the most ancient culture and society on Earth. It also means to talk about one of the most conflicted areas on the world nowadays, and it is very important to know what is happening there and not let the media alter the public’s perception of reality. For that reason, the best way to know what is happening there is through the Syrian students that are studying there, because we are going to teach them how to express themselves in another language to tell the people abroad what is happening exactly there, but in that case: they have to know Spanish and explain their culture in this seco nd language. On the other hand, if one were to study the Spanish culture (not as troubled as the Syrian, at least nowadays), it becomes clear the fact that many of its traditions, names, foods and even their numeric system, come from the Arabic countries and cultures. Nevertheless, the Arabic influence in Spain came to an end at the last of the 15th century and ever since then, has followed its own line of evolution throughout the curse of history, developing a whole new set of traditions that are, at some point, still influenced by those positive traces that are still left from the Arabic culture; although the Spanish culture was never stagnated in the old negative Muslim traditions...
