Espejos y autorrepresentación en la era de la híper-mediación digital

Abstract

Nos proponemos comparar la experiencia del individuo frente al espejo con la mantenida por el usuario con las plataformas virtuales con las que interactúa diariamente (como la web 2.0 o las redes sociales). Ambos dispositivos cumplen un papel intermediario en la imagen que nos devuelven y que tiene un gran peso la construcción identitaria de cada uno. Analizando las características tanto simbólicas como morfológicas que comparten, advertimos hasta qué punto son determinantes para con el carácter del reflejo que emiten, evidenciando la preocupante pérdida de control que el individuo tiene sobre su propia subjetividad.

This text aims to compare the experience in front of the mirror with that maintained with the virtual platforms we interact with on a daily basis (such as web 2.0 or social networks). Both devices play an intermediary role in the image that they give back to us and that has a great impact on the construction of our identity. By analyzing the symbolic and morphological characteristics they share, we can see to what extent they are determinant for the nature of the reflection they emit, revealing the alarming loss of control that individuals have over their own subjectivity.
