La concordancia de la información sobre la enfermedad entre el paciente con cáncer avanzado y su cuidador principal

Abstract

La información en cuidados paliativos es un pilar básico para una buena calidad asistencial. Una información eficiente facilita la relación entre el paciente y su cuidador principal frente al médico. Permite al paciente y cuidador formar parte de la toma de decisiones y del desarrollo de un plan de cuidados en la fase avanzada de enfermedad,para ello es esencial que estén informados y concuerden en la información. Existen datos que muestran los beneficios que aporta una información adecuada al paciente, cuidador y médico, siempre que se individualice en cada caso y se ajuste la información en función de las necesidades del paciente. Por ello, el objetivo principal de esta investigación ha sido valorar la frecuencia con la que están informados los pacientes y sus cuidadores principales, las variables asociadas a estar informados y la concordancia existente entre ambos, entendiendo que el cumplimiento de estos objetivos favorecerá la calidad asistencial...Palliative care information is a basic tool for a good quality assistance to patients.
